Victorian Inquiry into Community Consultation Practices – Where to from here?
The Victorian Inquiry into Community Consultation Practices represents the first deep dive into the state of public engagement in Australasia.
Over an 18-month process, the inquiry gathered 133 submissions, held three days of public hearings, and convened two online community roundtables to explore how engagement could be improved. The Committee made 63 findings and 28 recommendations, signalling a significant moment for the practice.
The implications extend well beyond Victoria. The findings have ramifications for how we think about, design and deliver engagement across Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
Moderated by Engagement Institute Board Chair; Michele Barry, this webinar brings together an expert panel to unpack what the inquiry means for our practice, where the opportunities and risks lie, and what we can do now to strengthen engagement in the short term and into the future.
